Yes — you can bring a changing pad when traveling with a baby on United. Changing pads (disposable or reusable) are considered baby/child care items and are allowed in carry-on bags or diaper bags. They can also go in checked baggage if you prefer.
Security screening: The TSA will screen the pad like other carry-on items. If it’s bulky or inflatable it may need to be placed on the X-ray belt separately or opened for inspection.
If unsure on travel day: Ask United staff at check-in or the gate for guidance — they’re used to helping families and can advise on storage or gate-checking.
