Can you bring a travel stroller on a plane with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines when traveling with a baby?

Bringing a travel stroller on KLM

Short answer: Yes — KLM allows a travel stroller (pushchair) for infants and young children free of charge. In practice you can usually take the stroller to the gate and it will be gate-checked and returned at the aircraft door on arrival (sometimes at the baggage belt, depending on the airport).

  • Allowance: One stroller/pushchair per child is accepted free of charge.
  • Gate check: Bring the stroller to the aircraft door; staff will stow it and normally return it at the plane door on arrival.
  • In-cabin: Very small, fully folded umbrella-style strollers may be allowed in the cabin only if they meet the carry-on size/weight limits and space permits — this is at the discretion of the crew.
  • Car seats: Car seats are also accepted free. To use a car seat onboard you must have a purchased seat for the child and the car seat must be approved for aircraft use.
  • Tips: Collapse and secure the stroller, add a tag with your name/flight, arrive early, and confirm any route-specific rules with KLM at booking or check-in.
