## Security with children

- **Family lane:** Boise publishes no family security lane. The TSA checkpoint opens one hour before the day's first departure and closes around 25 minutes before the last. CLEAR and PreCheck enrollment kiosks are in the checkpoint area, and a liquid dump station by security lets you empty and refill bottles. Sunflower lanyards are available from the Administration Office on the third floor or by mail.
- **Strollers and car seats:** Strollers, baby carriers and car seats go through the X-ray, and anything too large is inspected by hand. Take your child out and carry them through the walk-through metal detector.
- **Formula, milk and baby food:** Formula, breast milk and baby food are allowed over 3.4 oz (100 ml) and do not need to fit in the quart bag. Tell the officer at the start of screening and take them out of your bag.
- **Shoes:** Children 12 and under can leave their shoes, light jackets and headwear on during screening.
- **PreCheck:** Children 12 and under can use the TSA PreCheck lane with an enrolled parent or guardian. Teens 13 to 17 on the same reservation can too, if the PreCheck indicator appears on their boarding pass.

## Getting between terminals

Boise has one terminal. After the single TSA checkpoint, the food court sits at the centre with Concourses B and C on either side. Elevators run throughout the terminal and parking garage, and marked paging phones offer 24-hour assistance.

## Your rights

- **Lactation:** As a small hub, Boise isn't covered by the FAM Act's lactation room requirement for medium and large hubs, and its site lists no nursing room. TSA still allows breast milk and formula over 3.4 oz.
- **Changing tables:** Boise confirms four family restrooms past security, one with a universal changing table near Gate B16.
- **Liquids:** TSA's national rule applies at Boise Airport: formula, breast milk and baby food are allowed over 3.4 oz (100 ml) and do not need to fit in the quart bag. Declare them at the start of screening.
- **Boarding:** Family boarding is set by your airline, not by Boise Airport. Check your carrier before you fly.
- **If it is missing:** Use a marked paging phone in the terminal for 24-hour assistance, or contact the Administration Office on the third floor.
