## Security with children

- **Family lane:** Bradley publishes no family security lane. Its main TSA checkpoint reopened in October 2026 after an expansion that added two lanes; signage now directs passengers to standard, PreCheck, PreCheck Touchless ID, CLEAR, priority and wheelchair-access lanes. A secondary checkpoint near the Sheraton Hotel screens PreCheck and CLEAR Plus passengers. You'll need a boarding pass, not just an itinerary, to enter the checkpoint.
- **Strollers and car seats:** Strollers, baby carriers and car seats go through the X-ray, and anything too large is inspected by hand. Take your child out and carry them through the walk-through metal detector.
- **Formula, milk and baby food:** Formula, breast milk and baby food are allowed over 3.4 oz (100 ml) and do not need to fit in the quart bag. Tell the officer at the start of screening and take them out of your bag.
- **Shoes:** Children 12 and under can leave their shoes, light jackets and headwear on during screening.
- **PreCheck:** Children 12 and under can use the TSA PreCheck lane with an enrolled parent or guardian. Teens 13 to 17 on the same reservation can too, if the PreCheck indicator appears on their boarding pass.

## Getting between terminals

Bradley operates from one passenger terminal, Terminal A. Drop-off is on the upper (departures) level and pick-up on the lower (arrivals) level, with the main elevator near door 3. Arriving passengers now leave the secure area through new exit corridors on the east and west sides of the terminal. Volunteer Airport Ambassadors staff the lower-level information desk.

## Your rights

- **Lactation:** As a medium hub, Bradley falls under the FAM Act's requirement for a non-restroom lactation space past security. Its Mother's Nursing Lounge meets that, and it's open 24 hours.
- **Changing tables:** Bradley confirms a changing table in its nursing lounge and companion-care restrooms beside most restroom blocks, but doesn't publish changing table locations elsewhere.
- **Liquids:** TSA's national rule applies at Bradley: formula, breast milk and baby food are allowed over 3.4 oz (100 ml) and do not need to fit in the quart bag. Declare them at the start of screening.
- **Boarding:** Family boarding is set by your airline, not by Bradley. Check your carrier before you fly.
- **If it is missing:** Ask a volunteer Airport Ambassador at the lower-level information desk. For terminal accommodation requests within 48 hours, call Airport Operations at (860) 627-3001.

## FAQ

### Does Bradley Airport have a kids' play area?

Bradley's website doesn't list one. Its accessibility, nursing and FAQ pages don't mention a children's play area, and the airport doesn't state that none exists. Plan to keep kids busy at the gate or walking the terminal.

### Where can I breastfeed or pump at Bradley?

Bradley's Mother's Nursing Lounge is past security next to the CT River Landing store and is available around the clock. It has comfortable seating, a sink, a fold-down changing table and a power outlet for electric pumps. As a medium hub, Bradley is required by the FAM Act to have a lactation space past security.

### Are there family restrooms at Bradley?

Yes. Bradley says unisex companion-care restrooms are next to most of its restroom locations throughout the terminal. These are ideal for a parent with a child of a different gender. The airport doesn't publish which ones have changing tables; the nursing lounge has one.

### Does Bradley have a sensory room?

Bradley's site doesn't list one. It does partner with GoodMaps, a free indoor navigation app with structured paths for neurodiverse travellers, audio guidance and step-free routes. For help at screening, contact TSA Cares ahead of your trip.

### Does Bradley have a family security lane?

Bradley doesn't publish one. Its main checkpoint reopened in October 2026 with two extra lanes and new signage for standard, PreCheck, PreCheck Touchless ID, CLEAR, priority and wheelchair-access screening. Children 12 and under keep their shoes on, and formula and breast milk are allowed over 3.4 oz.

### Can I rent a stroller at Bradley?

Bradley doesn't mention stroller rental. Luggage carts are $6 from dispensers on the arrivals level, with a 25 cent rebate when you return one. Bring your own stroller and gate-check it under your airline's rules.

### Do I need a boarding pass to get through security at Bradley?

Yes. Bradley's FAQ notes that TSA requires a boarding pass, paper or digital, at the checkpoint; an e-ticket or itinerary won't get you through. Children under 18 don't need ID for domestic flights, but your airline may have its own rules.

### What are the rules for formula and breast milk at Bradley security?

TSA's national rules apply. Formula, breast milk and baby food are allowed in your carry-on above the 3.4 oz (100 ml) limit and don't need to fit in the quart bag. Tell the officer at the start of screening and take them out of your bag. You can carry your child through the walk-through metal detector.
