## Security with children

- **Family lane:** PHX publishes no family security lane. What it does run is the free Compassion Cacti lanyard programme: request one in advance at skyharbor.com, allow 5–7 business days, then collect it with photo ID at the Compassion Corner office in Terminal 4. Wearing it tells airport staff you may need extra time at check-in, the checkpoint and elsewhere. PHX is explicit that it does not affect PreCheck, CLEAR, early boarding or wheelchair assistance and bypasses no security standard.
- **Strollers and car seats:** TSA rules apply: strollers, umbrella strollers, baby carriers, car seats and booster seats must be screened by X-ray, and anything too large for the belt is inspected by hand. Take your child out and carry them through the walk-through metal detector.

The PHX Sky Train is automated, free and runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, linking Terminal 3, Terminal 4, East Economy Parking, the 24th Street station, the Rental Car Center and Valley Metro Rail at 44th and Washington. ## Layover plans

### 1–2 hours — The play area is only in Terminal 3

1. Clear security at your own terminal — Terminal 3 and Terminal 4 do not connect once you're through, so pick correctly the first time.
