## Security with children

- **Family lane:** TPA publishes no family lane and does not say it lacks one. ## Getting between terminals

TPA invented the landside/airside layout in 1971 and its signature shuttles were the first of their kind at any airport in the world. They are now being replaced: new Innovia APM R cars, built by Alstom near Pittsburgh, entered service on the Blue side at Airsides A and C on 13 March, with improved lighting, video information screens and doors with obstacle detection. ## Layover plans

### 1–2 hours — Ride the shuttle, clear your airside checkpoint, don't linger landside

1. Check your airside's TSA opening time before you leave for an early flight — they vary from 3:30 a.m. to 4:00 a.m.
2. Take the automated people mover straight to your airside; the Main Terminal is entirely before security.
3. Feed or change at that airside's nursing room if you need to — every one has a sink and changing table.
