## Security with children

- **Family lane:** YVR itself publishes no family security lane. CATSA, the national screening authority that runs the checkpoints, tells passengers: 'When you arrive at the checkpoint, check if the Family and Accessible Line is available. ### 1–2 hours — Use the before-security nursery if you need it

1. If you need to feed or change before your flight is called, the before-security USA-terminal nursery, open 03:00–20:30, is reachable by anyone with no boarding pass required.
2. Ask at the checkpoint whether the Family and Accessible Line is open — YVR doesn't guarantee it.
3. A changing station is in every washroom, so a quick change doesn't require finding a special room.

### 3–5 hours — Pair a Quiet Space with the nearest nursing pod

1. Domestic families: the B28 Mamava pod and the B28/C40 Quiet Space sit in the same Level 3 area.
2. International departures: the D67 nursery and its Quiet Space are in the same gate zone.
3. Use one of the six adult-dimension change tables if travelling with an older child or family member who needs one.
4. Feed and change before US preclearance if your gate is behind the E gates — only the E77 pod, an adult change table and a Quiet Space remain once you cross.

### International connection — The E gates are a one-way door

1. YVR's own terminal map marks USCBP on the route into the E gates — once you clear it, you can't walk back to Domestic or International facilities.
