Can you bring a bassinet on a plane with Allegiant Air when traveling with a baby?

Can I bring a bassinet on Allegiant Air when traveling with a baby?

Short answer: Allegiant does not provide onboard bassinets. Bringing your own portable bassinet depends on how the airline classifies it (carry-on/personal item or gate-checked) and whether it fits your paid allowance.

  • Allegiant policy note: The airline does not offer inflight bassinets. Items commonly allowed free for infants on many carriers are car seats and strollers, which are often gate-checked at no charge; confirm this with Allegiant for your flight.
  • If you want to bring a bassinet: Be prepared to treat it as either your personal item or a carry-on (subject to size/weight limits and fees) or to gate-check it. A large freestanding bassinet is unlikely to be accepted as cabin luggage unless it fits within the airline’s size limits.
  • Seating and safety: FAA rules require approved child restraint systems (car seats) for children in a purchased seat. A bassinet cannot replace a certified car seat for safety during taxi, takeoff, landing, or turbulence.
  • Before you travel: Contact Allegiant Reservations or Customer Support to explain the specific bassinet model you plan to bring and ask how they will handle it at check-in and boarding.
  • Practical tips: Consider bringing a collapsible travel bassinet that fits carry-on dimensions, reserve a seat with extra space if possible, and bring a certified car seat if you’ll purchase a seat for the infant.
