Can you bring a bassinet on a plane with Cathay Pacific when traveling with a baby?

Bringing a bassinet on Cathay Pacific

Short answer: Yes — Cathay Pacific provides airline bassinets on many long‑haul flights, but they are limited and have conditions.

  • Reserve in advance: bassinets must be requested before travel (contact reservations or your booking office). They are allocated on a first‑come, first‑served basis.
  • Bulkhead seats only: bassinets are fitted to specific bulkhead seats, so you’ll need to be seated there.
  • Size/weight & age limits apply: there are restrictions for safe use (check exact limits with Cathay Pacific for your flight).
  • Use during cruise only: crew will instruct when the bassinet can be used; it’s not used during taxi, takeoff, landing or turbulence.
  • Bringing your own bassinet: you can usually bring a portable travel cot as checked baggage, but airlines rarely allow personal bassinets to replace the installed one — confirm with Cathay beforehand.
  • Confirm before travel: call Cathay Pacific or your travel agent to request and confirm a bassinet and bulkhead seat well before departure.
