Can you bring a bottle warmer on a plane with Lufthansa when traveling with a baby?

Bringing a bottle warmer on a Lufthansa flight

Short answer: Yes — you may bring a bottle warmer, but follow airline, security and battery rules.

  • Carry-on preferred: Battery-powered warmers (especially with lithium batteries) should be carried in the cabin, not checked, and may be subject to size/Wh limits — check the device label.
  • Checked baggage: Non-battery, manual or water-based warmers can go in checked baggage, but electronics with batteries are safer in carry-on.
  • Use onboard: You may not be allowed to use devices that create open heating elements. Ask cabin crew before attempting to plug in or operate a warmer; use of personal heaters is at crew discretion.
  • Security screening: Remove the device from your bag if requested and expect standard screening. Empty water reservoirs before security if asked.
  • Practical tip: Many parents bring a thermos of hot water or request hot water from the crew to warm bottles safely.
