Bringing a bottle warmer on a Qatar Airways flight

You can generally bring a bottle warmer when travelling with a baby on Qatar Airways, but follow these rules:

  • Carry-on preferred: Electric or battery-operated warmers should be carried in the cabin rather than checked baggage when possible.
  • Batteries: Devices with lithium-ion batteries must be in carry-on. Spare lithium batteries or power banks are not allowed in checked baggage and may have capacity limits (most consumer warmers are under the 100 Wh limit).
  • Non-electric warmers: Insulated or thermal bottle warmers (no fuel) are permitted in carry-on or checked baggage.
  • Prohibited items: Fuel-powered or gas heaters and any item containing flammable liquids are not allowed.
  • Security checks: The device may need to be removed from your bag for x-ray screening. Liquids for baby feeding (milk, formula, breast milk) are exempt from the usual 100 ml rule but must be declared at security.
  • Onboard assistance: Cabin crew can usually provide hot water to warm bottles if you prefer not to carry a warmer.

Tip: Pack the warmer where you can reach it and check the device’s battery rating if it’s battery-powered; contact Qatar Airways ahead of travel if your device has an unusually large battery.
