Can you bring a car seat on a plane with Singapore Airlines when traveling with a baby?

Bringing a car seat on Singapore Airlines

Yes — you can bring and use a car seat on board, but there are conditions.

  • You must purchase a separate seat for the child if you want to install and use a car seat on board. Lap infants cannot use a car seat unless a seat is bought for them.
  • The car seat must be approved for aircraft use — look for the manufacturer’s statement or a label that it is certified/approved for use on an aircraft.
  • It must fit a single aircraft seat and be installed per the manufacturer’s instructions (use the aircraft seat belt). Car seats are generally not permitted in exit rows or where they would block an emergency exit.
  • Reserve the seat and inform Singapore Airlines in advance so they can advise about seat fit and any placement restrictions (window seat is often recommended).
  • Car seats and strollers are usually accepted free of charge and can be gate-checked or checked at the counter if you do not wish to use them in flight — confirm handling options at the airport.

If you’re unsure about fit or approval, contact Singapore Airlines before travel with your car seat make/model and dimensions so they can confirm it’s acceptable.
