Can you bring a stroller on a plane with Sun Country Airlines when traveling with a baby?

Bringing a stroller on Sun Country Airlines

Yes — Sun Country generally allows one stroller per child free of charge. You can either check it at the ticket counter or gate-check it at the aircraft door. Collapsible umbrella strollers are the easiest to gate-check and are often accepted at the gate so you can use them in the terminal until boarding.

  • Gate-check or ticket check: Most families gate-check the stroller so it’s available in the terminal and then tagged and stowed at the aircraft door. Larger or non-collapsible strollers may need to be checked at the ticket counter.
  • Car seats: Sun Country also allows a baby car seat free of charge. If you want to use a car seat on board, it must be FAA-approved and you must have bought a seat for the child.
  • Security: At TSA screening you’ll need to collapse the stroller or send it through the X-ray; you may be asked to remove the child from the stroller for screening.
  • Packaging and labeling: Remove loose items, collapse the stroller, and put a name tag on it. Bring a protective stroller bag if you’re concerned about damage.
  • Timing and communication: Arrive early and tell gate agents you’ll be gate-checking a stroller; staff will provide a gate-check tag and instructions.

Quick tips: Consider gate-checking rather than checking at the ticket counter to keep the stroller available in the terminal; expect some wear on checked items; verify current rules with Sun Country before travel in case policies changed.
