Bringing baby snacks on a KLM flight

KLM allows you to bring food for your baby on board. Solid snacks (biscuits, fruit, dry cereals, snack pouches) are fine in carry-on luggage. For liquids and semi-liquids needed for the infant — breast milk, formula, baby food jars or purees, and expressed milk — security rules make an exception to the 100 ml limit: you may carry reasonable quantities for the flight, but you must declare them at the security checkpoint. These items will undergo separate screening and may be subject to additional checks.

  • Pack extras: bring more food/formula than you expect to need in case of delays.
  • Label and separate: keep baby items easily accessible for screening and declare them when asked.
  • On board: cabin crew can usually help with heating bottles or food — ask politely, but heating isn’t guaranteed.
  • Destination rules: some countries restrict bringing fresh food across borders — check customs rules for your destination.
  • Carry-on preferred: keep baby food in your carry-on, not checked baggage, for convenience and screening.

If you want, tell me your departure country and destination and I’ll help you check specific security or customs considerations.
