Can you bring formula on a plane with Qatar Airways when traveling with a baby?

Bringing formula on a plane with Qatar Airways

Yes — you can bring baby formula, breast milk and baby food on Qatar Airways. These items are allowed in carry-on baggage and are generally exempt from the 100 ml/3.4 oz liquid limit applied to other liquids. At airport security you should declare them for separate screening.

  • Powdered formula: allowed in both carry-on and checked baggage without special limits, but keeping enough in carry-on is recommended for the flight.
  • Ready-to-feed liquid formula and expressed breast milk: allowed in reasonable quantities for the journey. Security may need to X-ray or hand-inspect containers; you may be asked to open them or have a swab tested.
  • Ice packs / frozen gel packs: can be brought if solidly frozen at screening. If partially melted they may be treated as liquids and screened further.
  • Declare at security: tell the screening officer you have baby milk/formula so they can handle it appropriately.
  • Onboard assistance: cabin crew can usually provide hot water to prepare or warm formula — ask politely if needed.
  • Practical tips: pack extra supply, carry bottles and a clean spoon, keep powder in original packaging or clearly marked containers, and allow extra time at security.
