Can you bring pumped breast milk on a plane with Emirates when traveling with a baby?

Bringing pumped breast milk on Emirates

Yes. Emirates permits passengers to carry expressed breast milk in carry-on baggage. It is treated as an exception to the usual 100 ml liquids restriction and will undergo security screening.

  • At security: Declare the breast milk, remove it from your bag and present it separately. Containers may be X-rayed and/or opened for inspection and may be tested for explosives residue.
  • Quantity: Carry a reasonable amount for the journey (including connections). Exact limits are set by airport security, so allow what you need for the flight time and delays.
  • Transport and cooling: Use insulated bags and frozen ice packs. Frozen packs are allowed but may be screened; if partially thawed they may be subject to additional checks.
  • Onboard: Cabin crew can assist but fridges aren’t guaranteed. Bring enough supply, extra bottles, and breast pump parts in carry-on.
  • Advice: Label containers, carry a note saying it’s breast milk, and contact Emirates or departure airport security if you want confirmation for a specific route.
