Can you bring a bassinet on a plane with Frontier Airlines when traveling with a baby?

Bringing a bassinet on a Frontier Airlines flight

Short answer: Frontier does not provide in-flight bassinets. You can bring your own travel bassinet but it must follow the airline’s carry-on rules and safety limitations, and it cannot be used as an approved child restraint during taxi, takeoff, or landing.

  • Frontier’s onboard bassinets: Frontier does not supply bassinets/cots at the seat like some international carriers do. If a bassinet is important to your travel plans, you’ll need to bring a travel bassinet yourself.
  • Carry-on and stowage rules: A portable bassinet is treated like any other carry-on or personal item. That means it must fit within Frontier’s allowed carry-on/personal item dimensions or be checked. If it can’t be stowed safely in the overhead bin or under the seat, flight attendants will ask that it be gate-checked or checked with your luggage for the flight.
  • Safety and FAA rules: Bassinets and travel sleep pods are not FAA‑approved child restraint systems. The FAA recognizes only FAA‑approved child safety seats (car seats) for use as a restraint during all phases of flight. A bassinet cannot substitute for a car seat—infants held on a lap must be held by an adult and cannot be placed in a bassinet during takeoff, landing, or turbulence.
  • If you want a secure restraint: To use a child safety seat onboard, you must purchase a separate seat for the child and use an FAA‑approved car seat or child restraint that fits the aircraft seat. This is the safest option for a baby who needs to be restrained during the whole flight.
  • Practical tips: If you bring a travel bassinet, pack it so it’s easy to collapse and gate-check if required. Consider buying a seat for the infant if you want to use an FAA‑approved car seat for safety and more sleep-friendly setup. Also, call Frontier ahead of time to confirm space and boarding procedures for passengers traveling with infants.
