Can I bring a bassinet on a LATAM flight when traveling with a baby?

  • Airline-provided bassinets: LATAM offers bassinets on some long-haul/international flights. They are fitted at bulkhead seats and are limited in number, so you must request one in advance and have a confirmed bulkhead seat.
  • Bringing your own bassinet: Personal bassinets or travel cots are generally not accepted as an approved child restraint for use during taxi, takeoff and landing. You may bring a collapsible travel bed as luggage, but it typically cannot be used in place of an approved seat restraint onboard.
  • Child seats/CRS: If you want a dedicated seat for your infant, use a certified child restraint system (car seat) that meets safety standards and is approved for aircraft use; you must buy a seat and confirm acceptance with LATAM beforehand.
  • Practical steps: Request the bassinet and bulkhead seat when booking or contact LATAM Reservations well before travel, note availability is limited, and arrive early at the airport to confirm arrangements.
