Bringing a bottle warmer on Alaska Airlines

Most bottle warmers are allowed, but rules depend on the type:

  • Non‑battery / electric (plug‑in) warmers: Allowed in carry‑on or checked baggage. If carrying in checked baggage, make sure it's well padded.
  • Battery‑powered or lithium‑ion warmers: Bring in carry‑on only. Spare batteries must be carried in the cabin with terminals protected (tape or original packaging).
  • If the warmer contains water or other liquids: Empty it before screening if possible. Baby food, formula, breast milk and water for baby are exempt from the 3.4 oz (100 ml) liquid rule — declare these at security for inspection.

Additional tips:

  • Allow extra time at security — officers may want to inspect the device.
  • Power at the gate or on the aircraft is not guaranteed; plan to pre‑warm or bring other warming options.
  • If unsure about a specific model, keep it in your carry‑on and notify checkpoint staff or contact Alaska Airlines ahead of travel.
