Because airline child policies change — and parents shouldn’t have to hunt for answers.
Short answer: Yes — you can take a pack and play (travel cot/portable playard) when flying with Emirates, but it cannot be used as an onboard bassinet and will normally need to be checked (either at check-in or gate-checked).
Airlines treat pack and plays as bulky baby equipment rather than cabin furniture. Emirates provides bassinets for young infants in certain seats and on a first-come, first-served basis, but those are fixed airline bassinets and are not the same as a pack and play. If you want an onboard sleeping option, request a bassinet when you book or contact Emirates in advance; availability is limited.
If you’d like, tell me your departure country, route, and whether you’ve purchased a seat for the infant and I’ll help you prepare what to ask Emirates when you call or email.
