Most of the time you can bring a portable toddler bed rail, but there are a few important points to know:

Permission and allowance: Airlines treat baby equipment (strollers, car seats, travel cots) differently. A bed rail may be accepted as cabin baggage if it fits your allowance or as checked baby equipment—check with Air France before travel.
Size and weight: If you want it in the cabin, it must meet the cabin baggage size/weight rules and not block aisles or exits.
Onboard use and safety: A bed rail is not an approved child restraint system for takeoff/landing. It cannot replace a certified car seat or the required seatbelt during taxi, takeoff, or landing.
If bulky: Gate-checking or checking it with other baby equipment is commonly allowed; gate agents will advise on acceptance and whether it’s free of charge.
