Security
Family lane
MKE publishes no family security lane. Concourses C and D each have their own checkpoint, and if you connect between them you'll be screened again at your departure concourse. MKE offers PreCheck enrollment at a CLEAR kiosk and points families to TSA Cares. Sunflower lanyards are available at the Airport Information desk, pre-security in the Main Terminal, and MKE publishes a printable social story of the airport journey.
Strollers and car seats
Strollers, baby carriers and car seats go through the X-ray, and anything too large is inspected by hand. Take your child out and carry them through the walk-through metal detector.
Formula, milk and baby food
Formula, breast milk and baby food are allowed over 3.4 oz (100 ml) and do not need to fit in the quart bag. Tell the officer at the start of screening and take them out of your bag.
Shoes and jackets
Children 12 and under can leave their shoes, light jackets and headwear on during screening.
TSA PreCheck with kids
Children 12 and under can use the TSA PreCheck lane with an enrolled parent or guardian. Teens 13 to 17 on the same reservation can too, if the PreCheck indicator appears on their boarding pass.
Know your concourse
Southwest, Sun Country and United use Concourse C; Alaska, American, Delta, Frontier and JetBlue use Concourse D.

Before security
The Main Terminal has a Mamava suite and a family restroom near the Miller Brewhouse.
Pick up a Sunflower lanyard at the Airport Information desk.
At the checkpoint
Fold the stroller for the X-ray and carry your child through the metal detector.
Play time
Head to the Kids Zone: across from Chili's in C, or near Gate D30 in D.
In D, the Mother's Room is right beside the play area.
At the gate
Gate-check rules for strollers are set by your airline, not by MKE. Check your carrier before you fly.
MKE publishes nothing about stroller rental. Its shops sell diaper changing kits, wipes, children's Tylenol, Earplanes and coloring books.
Not published by MKE; set by each airline.
Transfers
None airside; free Saver Parking shuttle
MKE has a Main Terminal with ticketing, baggage claim and a pre-security Concession Mall, plus two active concourses: C (Gates C9 to C25) and D (Gates D27 to D56). Each concourse has its own checkpoint. The free 24/7 Saver Parking shuttle meets you at your car and drops you at the departures curb, and Skycaps can take you to your gate on request.
Layover playbook
What to actually do, by how long you have.
Know your rights
Lactation rooms
As a medium hub, MKE falls under the FAM Act's requirement for a non-restroom lactation space past security. It has a Mamava in Concourse C and a Mother's Room in Concourse D, plus a Mamava before security.
Changing tables
MKE goes beyond the minimum: changing tables in every restroom, family restrooms in all terminals, and two adult-size changing stations.
Milk and formula
TSA's national rule applies at MKE: formula, breast milk and baby food are allowed over 3.4 oz (100 ml) and do not need to fit in the quart bag. Declare them at the start of screening.
Boarding
Family boarding is set by your airline, not by MKE. Check your carrier before you fly.
If the facility is not there

Yes, two. MKE's Make-A-Wish Kids Zones have aviation-themed climb-ons, activities and views of the airfield. One is in Concourse C across from Chili's, and the other is in Concourse D near Gate D30. Both are past security. Because each concourse has its own checkpoint, use the one in your departure concourse.
MKE has Mamava lactation suites in the Main Terminal, across from the Miller Brewhouse before security, and in Concourse C near Gate C21. Each has power and USB outlets, a fold-down shelf, seating and a mirror. Concourse D has a Mother's Room right next to the Kids Zone near Gate D30.
Yes. MKE says changing tables are in all restrooms, so either parent can change a baby anywhere. Family restrooms are in all terminals, with extra space for strollers and, in some, child-size toilets and sinks. Adult-size, height-adjustable changing stations are near the Miller Brewhouse and in the Concourse D family restroom.
MKE's site doesn't list one. It does publish a printable social story walking through the airport journey, offers Sunflower lanyards at the Airport Information desk, and has a quiet Meditation Room on level 3 of the parking structure. Aira and Aira ASL are free at MKE.
Not airside. MKE says that if you connect from an airline on one concourse to an airline on the other, you'll be screened at the checkpoint of your departure concourse. Budget time for a second security line.
MKE doesn't publish one. Standard TSA family rules apply: children 12 and under keep their shoes on, strollers go through the X-ray, and formula and breast milk are allowed over 3.4 oz. Contact TSA Cares ahead of time for extra help.
Yes. MKE lists baby and kid products sold in its shops, including Pampers changing kits (size 4), wipes, children's Tylenol, kids' sleep aids, Earplanes, kids' Dramamine, coloring books and stuffed animals. MKE doesn't mention stroller rental, so bring your own stroller.
TSA's national rules apply. Formula, breast milk and baby food are allowed in your carry-on above the 3.4 oz (100 ml) limit and don't need to fit in the quart bag. Tell the officer at the start of screening and take them out of your bag.
