DJT in West Palm Beach, still known to many parents as PBI, is a compact single terminal with three concourses, and its official site documents a short list of family facilities. You get two private nursing suites past security (Concourse B just past the checkpoint, and Concourse C near Gate C6) and companion care restrooms built for a caregiver or family member. There is no published play area, stroller rental, family security lane or family lounge. A sensory room and adult changing tables are planned as part of the Concourse B expansion, targeted for summer 2028. Plan around the overnight closure: the airport says the building is closed from 11 p.m. to 3:30 a.m.
- DJT is the same West Palm Beach airport that used the code PBI; its IATA code changed on August 18, 2026.
- Both nursing suites are past security: one just past the Concourse B checkpoint, one near Gate C6.
- Companion care restrooms are private, single-occupancy rooms with extra space and a sink.
- The terminal is closed from 11 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., so overnight waits inside are not an option.
- There are no luggage lockers or bag storage at the airport.

Getting Through DJT Security With Kids
Family lane
The airport's own site does not describe lane types at its checkpoints, so a family lane can be neither confirmed nor ruled out. It does refer to a Checkpoint B for Concourse B, so check which checkpoint serves your gate before you join a line.
Strollers and car seats
TSA rules apply: strollers, umbrella strollers, carriers, car seats and booster seats go through the X-ray, and anything too large for the belt is inspected by hand. Take your child out and carry them through the metal detector.
Formula, milk and baby food
Formula, breast milk, toddler drinks and baby food are allowed over 3.4 oz (100 ml) and do not have to fit in a quart bag. Your child does not have to be travelling with you to carry breast milk. Declare them at the start of screening and take them out of your bag.
Shoes and jackets
Children 12 and under can leave their shoes, light jackets and headwear on during screening.
TSA PreCheck with kids
Children 17 and under can use the TSA PreCheck lane with an enrolled adult whose boarding pass carries the PreCheck indicator. The airport notes that CLEAR offers on-site PreCheck enrollment at every checkpoint, with no appointment needed.
DJT With a Stroller, Step by Step
- 1
Know your concourse
Your airline decides your concourse: Bahamasair uses A; Allegiant, American, Avelo, Southwest and United use B; Air Canada, Breeze, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue and Porter use C.
The two nursing suites are in B and C, so families flying from Concourse A should plan feeds with that in mind.
- 2
Check in on Level 3
Ticket counters and curbside bag check are on Level 3. Parking garages connect directly to the terminal, and Premium parking sits right outside Baggage Claim.
Take a photo of your parking spot, as the airport itself recommends.
- 3
At the checkpoint
Fold the stroller for the X-ray and carry your child through the metal detector. Declare formula, breast milk and baby food at the start of screening.
Ask for a private screening if your child struggles; TSA Cares can help if you call at least 72 hours ahead.
- 4
Feeding after security
The Concourse B nursing suite is just past the TSA checkpoint, and the Concourse C suite is near Gate C6.
- 5
At the gate
Gate-check rules for strollers are set by your airline; the airport publishes no stroller policy of its own and no rental.
The airport's official site says nothing about stroller rental at DJT, in either direction, so bring your own or check with your airline about gate-checking.
Not published by the airport; set by each airline.
Transfers
Getting Around DJT With Children
DJT is one main terminal on three levels. Level 3 has airline ticket counters and curbside check-in, Level 2 has all the gates (Concourses A, B and C), the nursing suites, shops and restaurants, and Level 1 has Baggage Claim, rental car desks and ground transportation. The layout is compact. Self-service baggage carts are in Baggage Claim for $6, with a partial refund when you return one.
Layover playbook
What to Do on a DJT Layover With Kids
What to actually do, by how long you have.
Stay in your concourse and use the nearest nursing suite
- 1Confirm your concourse from your airline before you clear security.
- 2Feed or change in the Concourse B suite just past the checkpoint, or the Concourse C suite near Gate C6.
- 3Grab a snack nearby; Starbucks opens at 4:30 a.m. in both B and C.
Bring the play kit, because no play area is published
- 1Pack toys, tablets and snacks; the airport names no children's play area.
- 2Use the free Wi-Fi and the charging stations in the Main Terminal and both main concourses.
- 3Sit down for a meal at Chili's Too in Concourse C, open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- 4If a family member needs extra support, request a companion care restroom from airport staff.
Don't plan to wait inside overnight: the terminal closes
- 1The airport says the building is closed from 11 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., so book a nearby hotel for a late arrival or early departure.
- 2There are no luggage lockers or bag storage, so keep your bags with you.
- 3Arrive after 3:30 a.m. for early flights; Starbucks opens at 4:30 a.m.
Know your rights
What DJT Owes Your Family by Law
Lactation rooms
The federal FAM Act requires lactation areas at medium and large hub airports, and DJT is expected to fall under it. The airport's two private nursing suites, in Concourses B and C, are where to go.
Changing tables
The airport publishes no list of restrooms with baby changing tables, so treat their exact locations as unconfirmed until you're on site.
Milk and formula
TSA's national rule applies at every DJT checkpoint: formula, breast milk, toddler drinks and baby food over 3.4 oz (100 ml) are allowed and don't need to fit in the quart bag, and your child does not have to be travelling with you to carry breast milk. Declare them at the start of screening.
Boarding
Priority boarding for families is set by your airline, not by the airport. Check your carrier's own policy before you fly.
If the facility is not there
The airport publishes no dedicated contact for family facilities. Call the main airport line at (561) 471-7400, ask any staff member for the nearest nursing suite, and contact TSA Cares at (855) 787-2227 for screening support.

DJT With Kids: Common Questions
Is DJT the same airport as Palm Beach International (PBI)?
Yes. President Donald J. Trump International Airport is the airport formerly called Palm Beach International Airport (PBI), at the same location in West Palm Beach. According to the airport's name change FAQ, a Florida law required the change, the new name took effect on July 9, 2026, and the IATA code switched from PBI to DJT on August 18, 2026. Older bookings, apps and signs may still show PBI, so search for either code when you check flights.
Does DJT have a kids' play area?
Not that the airport documents. Its passenger services page covers nursing suites, Wi-Fi, charging stations, pet relief areas and lounges, but names no children's play area, so we list it as unconfirmed rather than missing. Pack your own entertainment, and check the airport's site before you fly in case that changes.
Where are the nursing rooms at DJT?
There are two private nursing suites for traveling parents and families, both past security. One is in Concourse B, just past the TSA checkpoint, and the other is in Concourse C near Gate C6. The airport publishes no hours, equipment list or access steps, and it lists no suite in Concourse A.
Are there family restrooms at DJT?
Yes, in the form of companion care restrooms. The airport describes them as private, single-occupancy rooms for travelers with a companion, caregiver or family member, with extra room for mobility devices, grab bars and a sink. It does not publish where they are or whether they have baby changing tables, so ask staff for the nearest one.
Does DJT have a sensory room?
Not yet. The airport lists a dedicated sensory room for travelers with autism and other sensory sensitivities as part of its Concourse B expansion, along with adult changing tables. The final phase of that project is targeted for summer 2028. Today, the airport's Sunflower lanyard program is the main documented support for hidden disabilities.
Can I rent a stroller at DJT?
The airport's official site doesn't mention stroller rental at all, so plan to bring your own. Self-service baggage carts are available in Baggage Claim for $6, with a partial refund when you return one. Gate-checking a stroller is handled by your airline.
Does DJT have a family security lane?
The airport doesn't say. It notes that CLEAR offers PreCheck enrollment at every checkpoint but says nothing about family lanes. Standard TSA family rules apply: children 12 and under keep their shoes on, and formula, breast milk and baby food are allowed over 3.4 oz.
Can we wait overnight at DJT with kids?
No. The airport's travel tips say the building is closed from 11 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., so a late arrival or a very early flight means booking a nearby hotel or arriving after reopening. There are also no luggage lockers or bag storage on site.
What can kids eat at DJT?
Concourse C has the most choice, including Chili's Too (7 a.m. to 8 p.m.), Dunkin', Bit & Bridle for grab-and-go sandwiches and Starbucks. Concourse B has Starbucks, Tacos Locos and Stinger Ray's, which opens at 5:30 a.m. The airport publishes no kids' menus or high chair details, and hours follow the flight schedule.
Is DJT easy to navigate with young children?
Generally, yes. It's one terminal on three levels: check-in on Level 3, all gates and the nursing suites on Level 2, and bags and ground transportation on Level 1. Parking garages connect directly to the terminal, and a Palm Tran bus stop sits on the Level 1 outer curb.
